Labneh Sauce with Crispy Pita

Here is my step-by-step guide on how to make this really easy dip and crispy pita! This refreshing dip can always be found in my fridge. The word "labneh" means strained yogurt which is the primary key of this dip. It is thick, creamy, and tangy!

#dip

Ingredients:

For the dip:

3/4 cup hung curd (I will teach you how to make this using 1 1/2 cup yogurt)

1/4 tsp zaatar - buy this one

1/4 tsp sumac - buy this one

1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil

1/4 tsp. red paprika (depending on how spicy you want it)

Fresh oregano and thyme for garnishing

For the crispy pita:

1 piece pita (wheat or plain flour)

1/2 tsp. extra virgin olive oil

1/4 tsp. sumac - buy this one

1/4 tsp. zaatar - buy this one

a pinch of salt

1/4 tsp. red paprika (depending on how spicy you want it)

Here is my step-by-step guide on how to make this really easy dip and crispy pita!

The first thing we have to do is make the hung curd. To do this put the yogurt in a muslin cloth and tie it together and put the muslin cloth on a trainer and leave it in the fridge for 6-7 hours until all of the water drains out.

Once your curd is ready, scrape it onto a plate or bowl.

Now, use a spoon to make swirls around the cream (so we can pour in some olive oil.)

Pour extra virgin olive oil on top of the swirls...

Now sprinkle zaatar, sumac, red paprika and salt

Garnish this with finely chopped oregano and thyme!

Great! Now let's make our crispy pita bites!

1. All you need to do to make it is put olive oil in a bowl and add zaatar and sumac, paprika, and salt and mix gently.

2. Now neatly cut your pita bread into slices and brush the paste we made on it and bake it for 10 minutes at 180 degrees celsius until it gets light brown. Your pita is ready!

Now sit down on your couch and eat up!
